Two garden ponds with fish on a half acre with paved year round access, 3000 ft elevation with mountain views. En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Bob is semi retired artist and writer who also makes rustic furniture for local galleries. Carol works part time at the local college book store and is an avid reader. We were married in Nice where Bob worked for a short time, and have returned to Europe over a dozen times. We both raced our sailboat when we lived in Florida, and ski cross country when there is enough snow.

Our community is quiet with about 125 homes, all on 1/2 acre or more. Five minutes to the community college and medical facilities, grocery store, movie rental, gas station, and some small shops. Ten minutes to Waynesville (pop. 9,500)and more shopping, grocery stores, nice restaurants, mountain artisan galleries and gift shops. Cataloochee Ski Area is 30 minutes away. Asheville (pop. 55,000) and more artist galleries and restaurants is 20 minutes away. Sylva another mountain town is 25 minutes away and adjoining Dillsboro is known for its Christmas luminaries and quaint mountain shops as well as Western Carolina University. Waynesville has street dance-clogging-mountain string music during the summer. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is forty minutes away with numerous hiking trails and a photographic paradise. There is an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway in Waynesville. 40 minutes to Cataloochee Valley where Elk have been reintroduced, or to the Cherokee American Indian community, museums & crafts. Nearby is whitewater rafting, and only 4 hours to Historic Charleston, SC and the Atlantic Ocean Beaches.
