Notre maison

There are massive, oak and maple giants surrounding in 360 degrees this meticulous, elegant and family-friendly home located halfway between Washington D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan area, in the upscale and highly desired town of Columbia, Maryland, rated by Fortune magazine as #4 best place to live in America. We have four bedrooms, icluding one master bedroom with a four postered, king sized bed and master bath, one bedroom with a full bed, one bedroom with a twin bed and a nursery with a crib. There are hardwood floors throughout.

When not touring the Smithsonian, visiting George Washington's Georgian homestead at Mt Vernon, experiencing the quiet awe of Antietam National Battlefield, catching a D.C. United soccer match, eating at world class restaurants in D.C., checking out the 19th century stall-markets that feature oysters and crabs direct from the Chesapeake Bay, or seeing Edgar Allen Poe's and Babe Ruth's home, you can go farther afield to the mystical and revered West Virginia, where secret hollows and hidden glens reveal class 5 white water. Our neigborhood will provide you with a traveling base that is a secluded, wooded respite with extensive walking paths, lakes, golf courses, tennis courts, parks, and a private, for town use only pool system, the closest of which is a 5 minute walk from the house.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Rob and Nell, a married couple with two small children. We are both professionals (Ph.d chemist and OB/GYN nurse practitioner) and enjoy travelling when able to get away. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in the US.

Commuter trains offer easy access to the cities of Washington D.C. and Baltimore in around 25 minutes. Parking space at the station is easily available for the use of any exchanger. Trains run until the early hours of the morning so going to the Kenndey Center, the Baltimore Symphomy or a dinner is not a problem.
