Notre maison

Our house is a two-story, Victorian row house. We have a small fenced yard, with a deck and a gas grill. There are three bedrooms: a master bedroom with a private bathroom, a second bedroom with a double bed, and a home office with a fold-out queen sized futon adjacent to the second bathroom. Downstairs are the living and dining rooms, with two couches. The kitchen was completely renovated in 2017 with new counters, cabinets and floor, and has a microwave, dishwasher and gas stove. There is a flat-screen TV in the living room. There are also a full washer and dryer downstairs. The house is comfortable and attractive. It has central heating and air conditioning, and lots of windows and light. There is also wireless internet throughout the house and on the deck. We have a cat who would need to be fed.

Our house is a 10-minute walk from the U.S. Capitol building and the Supreme Court, and a 20-minute walk from the Smithsonian Museums, including the National Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, the American Indian Museum, and the National Gallery of Art. All of these museums are open every day, and are free. Our house is a 5-minute walk from a variety of restaurants. We are also a 10-minute walk from Union Station, a train station with Amtrak train connections to New York City (3 1/2 hours away). Union Station also has restaurants and shops, and Washington's very safe and clean subway system which will take you all over the city. There is a bicycle rental kiosk one block from our house, and biking to the monuments and museums is a very fun thing to do.

There's lots to do in D.C. for adults and children, including many free museums, great restaurants, wonderful theaters and music. Our house is in a terrific location to comfortably explore the city, or use it as a jumping-off point to go to New York City, the beaches or mountains (2 hours away).
