Notre maison

Our sprawling farm was built in the late 1700's. We have owned it for 30 years and have restored it and added modern amenities while maintaining its original flavor. There are spectacular views of the ocean and the mountains of Acadia National Park from the living room, dining room, TV room, master bedroom and one of the guestrooms. There is also a large terrace from which the views can be enjoyed.

The kitchen is well equipped as we are both gourmet cooks and the dining room table seats ten. A perfect setting for Maine lobster dinners. The master bedroom, office and one guest room are upstairs and share a fully restored bathroom. The three bedrooms downstairs share a full bath and a half bath. There is also a large extra room which can be used as a second TV room, playroom or sleeping for 3 people.
It is a warm, comfortable home with a wood burning fireplace. There is also a large laundry room and well stocked library, large screen TV, high speed internet and plenty of comfortable seating areas.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am Denise. My husband, Don, and I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he is an M.D. ( pathologist). I spend 5 months a year in Maine and he commutes back and forth.

In a prior life, I was an attorney in NYC. I met Don 31 years ago on a blind date in Florida, inherited 2 amazing children and had 4 more together. Two of the kids live in NYC, one in CT, one in Albuquerque , one in FL. and one is moving to San Francisco.

I enjoy spending time in the cities where they live so I thought house swapping would work well.

We are located at the end of a quiet private road. We have 10 acres of Cedar forest, apple trees, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. A beautiful path leads to our private beach. There are 4 kayaks available for your enjoyment. You can watch the seals pop up next to your boat and watch the bald eagles fly overhead. I hope that you will take time to enjoy my many vegetable and flower gardens.

We are a short drive from Acadia National`where there are carriage paths for bike riders (we have 2 bikes) and hikes at all levels. Bar Harbor is about 15 minutes away. Here you can shop, dine or take a whale watching tour or trip to one of the islands. Don't forget to try the popovers! It is also very easy to take day trips from our house to explore the coast of Maine.
