Notre maison

Our home is available for a non simultaneous exchange 1/12/09 to 1/31/10 or any part there of that period. Our home was a 1950's Better Homes and Gardens "Home of the Future". It has been expanded over time and was recently totally renovated with marble baths and granite counter tops in the kitchen. We have about 2 acres of land and the back yard, with in ground pool, is fenced. We lived in the Far East for several years and our home reflects that with many Japanese Ukyoe prints, antique tonsu and hibachi and Imari and Kutani dishes and plates. We spend much of our time in the kitchen/family room where there is a fireplace, comfortable furniture and a plasma TV. Our other favorite room is the sunroom which is bright with light even on the rainiest day -- though our entire home is full of light with lots of windows! The master is very large with a king bed and private bath with tub and separate shower. The main guest room is also large with private bath and twin beds, the 2nd guest room is a good size with twin beds and hall bath and the 3rd guest room is used as an office but has a day bed that makes up as 2 twins. Also, there is a powder room off the front hall. The flagstone patio and pool area is our favorite hangout in the summer and we entertain there often.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My husband George is retired from IBM but still works and has a great commute from his bed to his office every morning. And I, Linda, work for a nonprofit trying to put a multi-use trail along the right-of-way of a local roadway. We both like to golf, walk, play tennis and swim. We also love to read and are avid Bridge players. We are new at home exchange but are excited to give it try. Our son and his family live in Zürich so exchanges there are desirable but we love to travel and will go just about anywhere. We are looking for an exchange in Zurich for any time in April 2009.

Ours is a suburban neighborhood with friendly active people. It is quiet with many trees and a great place to walk which many of us do regularly. Even so, we are 5 minutes from major shopping and 15 minutes from a Metro North train station which will take you to New York City's Grand Central Station in 45 minutes or you can drive into the city in less than an hour. Stamford has 2 public golf courses; we are 5 minutes from one and 15 from the other. Public tennis is easily available as well and there are several lovely beaches with picnic areas on Long Island Sound. We are less than an hour from 3 major discount shopping malls. Stamford has many fine restaurants, cultural activities and great shopping.
