Notre maison

Our home, built just after the war, is in a working class neighborhood in this working class town in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. It is 2 story 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms 1900 sq. ft (175 m2). It is modestly but comfortably furnished. Amenities include, dishwasher, microwave, cable TV, DVD, large screen projection TV 6 ft (1.8 meters) across, stereo, high speed internet and computer, thousands of books, hundreds of CDs, scores of DVDs.

You will have the use of one of our cars, an air conditioned, automatic transmission 2003 Hyundai Accent and bicycles including a tandem to explore the miles of bike trails along the Willamette River, linking Springfield with Eugene. Eugene has a population of 120,000 and is the home of the University of Oregon.

In addition we offer the use of our trailer house on the beautiful Oregon Coast. It is 120 miles (200 km) from Springfield, a 2 1/2 hour drive through farmland and forest. It is located in Pacific City, a small, one-time fishing village and has a partial view of the Nestucca River. The house is a short ten minute walk from a 5 mile (8 km) sandy beach. The house is small, 576 sq. ft (53 m2), 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, combination living room/kitchen. It is also fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer, cable TV, video, DVD and bicycles including another tandem.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My wife and I, PJ and Brad Sargeant, are a 50 year old couple with 2 grown sons. She is a retired civil servant, now artist, I work at the local municipal library managing computer systems.

We love to travel and have been to Paris several times. We are now ready to spend some real time there. I am hoping to get a feel for the non tourist Paris. We will be hosting PJ's brother for part of the time and hope to have a few other people visit us while we are there. We prefer to find a place that will sleep 4 people.

We are looking for a Home exchange in Paris in the Spring of 2007, sometime around 25 April - 25 May. Our dates are flexible we just do not want to travel in the Summer. We will be travelling separately so I could be available to pick you up at the airport to show you around when you arrive. You would be free to stay a bit longer in Pacific City after I get back if you like.

We are hoping for an exchange that includes a car as we have relatives and friends in France and are interested in making a few side trips: Bordeaux, LeMans, Evreux while we are there. A car not essential.

If you want a change from Paris and City life, this is the exchange for you. Please email for more photos or if you have any questions. We will see you Spring 2007!

Ideally located as a touring base, Springfield, Oregon, population 50,000, is 5 minutes from Eugene, 2 hours from Portland, 5 hours from Seattle, 8 hours from San Francisco or Vancouver BC. If you love the outdoors we are close to fishing, hiking, parks, including Oregon's only national Park, Crater Lake.

Our neighborhood is a typical small American working class town. It is neither rural, nor the suburbs. This is America before the sprawl of the 50's, 60's and 70's.

The little town of Pacific City has just enough to keep you occupied, yet relaxed. There are a few interesting shops and restaurants, just enough to give you a little something to do between naps in the hammock and long walks on the beach.
