Notre maison

We have a split-level style home located in a cul-de-sac (private road) off a quiet residential street. In the upper level, there are three bedrooms, a living room that extends to a dining area and a separate kitchen. The master bedroom has a California King bed with bathroom (toilet, sink and shower stall) as well as a treadmill. Our son's bedroom has a queen size bed. We have a leather sofa that can turn into a bed that will fit in the third rooom. We use this room as a TV/reading room. There is a full bathroom across this room. The living room has a fireplace, floor to ceiling windows with views of a big cedar tree, a red leaf Cherry Plum tree, another conifer, and flowers in the front yard. The kitchen is equipped with an espresso machine, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, and refrigerator. The dining area opens to a large covered deck (220 sq. ft) that we use in the summers for evening dinners (there is a gas grill for barbequeing). The deck has stairs to our back yard. In addition to space for one car, the garage (with automatic door) has some storage space and a washer/dryer. Our lot size is 6600 Square feet. The back yard has three fruit trees (apple, pear and plum trees). There are a couple of vegetable patches in the back, a few blueberry pots and two strawberry pyramids. We have a tuxedo cat and a gray-haired cat.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are empty nesters. I teach mathematics at a local community college while my husband works at a private research company in Redmond.
I enjoy gardening and have a couple of vegetable and berry patches. In the summer, we harvest strawberries, raspberries and blueberries as well as tomatoes and green beans from our garden. We also feed birds and hummingbirds.

Our children sometimes join us in some of our exchanges.

Our house is located in the quiet neighborhood of Cedar Park, northeast of downtown. It's about 15 minutes from downtown, 10 minutes from the University of Washington and 30 minutes from Seattle International Airport, and near (walking distance) west shore of Lake Washington. A block to the east of the house, you will see the north end of Lake Washington. We are also close to the Burke-Gilman trail that is great for walking and biking. The trail starts west of Lake Union (near the Puget Sound), loops around most of Lake Washington and connects to Lake Sammamish trail on the east side. It goes by a river (great for canoeing), two wineries and a brewery. The trail goes past the University of Washington to the south. Two blocks from the house, you can catch Metro buses to many parts of the city and suburbs. A big shopping mall (Northgate, the first shopping mall in America) is about 2 miles away. At a walking distance, there are two large grocery stores, a department store, two Thai restaurants (recommended), a Japanese Sushi restaurant (recommended), a few pubs, a pizza place, Burger King, a pub restaurant that brews their own beer, etc. There are two public libraries, one at a walking distance and the other one about a mile to the north. There's a great bookstore with a café, some restaurants, and a stage for performing called Third Place Bookstore close to the Lake Forest Park library.
