We love our home and living in San Diego. We have recently remodeled the home and can offer you a very relaxing, comfortable, and quiet place to stay. The main living area features a brand new, large kitchen open to our family room with views to the west over a large canyon. We watch the sunset whenever the sky is clear. The family room features an entertainment center and gas fireplace, and opens onto a balcony overlooking the canyon. There is an adjoining deck and swimming pool with jacuzzi, and a grill. Dining can be very informal for five at the bar between the kitchen and family room, or on the deck. There is also a slightly more formal dining area just off the kitchen. In April, the pool is not generally warm enough for swimming (approximately 20 degrees Celsius). However, the Jacuzzi can be warmed up any time you like. The weather will almost always allow for breakfast or lunch on the deck, and on warmer days dinner is also an option. We have a large living room. The home features a tasteful blend of wood flooring and carpeting. There are four bedrooms upstairs with 2 beds that can sleep two, two additional single beds, and a rollaway bed. We have a house cleaner who comes every 2 weeks, so you donât need to worry about vacuuming or dusting. We also have a gardener who comes every week. The pool will also be taken care of. There are no smokers in the home, but if you smoke, we can make arrangements outside.
We are a family of five. Our children are 8, 6, and 3 years old. They are all enrolled in French-speaking schools. We hope to travel to Europe every April when the children are out of school for one month. We made our first trip this year and had a wonderful two-week stay in Paris. My wife is an author and personal coach, and I am an Airline Pilot traveling frequently to Paris and Amsterdam, and also speak French. We have a dog, and are willing to find somewhere for his to stay, or have him at the home if we arrange to care for your pet(s).
San Diego is more relaxed and slow-paced than Los Angeles. The weather is as nice and often nicer. We offer many beaches, cultural opportunities, and restaurants. Traffic within the city is very light compared with Los Angeles. Disneyland is only a 90 minute drive, and for the adventurous, a 2-3 hour drive offers almost limitless opportunities including beautiful mountains and desert. We live in Kensington, one of the most popular and oldest neighborhoods in San Diego. The streets are lined with palm trees and many of the homes are beautifully landscaped. We are within 10-20 minutes of many popular beaches, and within 10-15 minutes of most of San Diegoâs attractions including Balboa Park, the world famous zoo, and SeaWorld. At the edge of our neighborhood, less than one mile from the house, you will find four restaurants including one of our favorites in San Diego, two coffee shops, video rental, and more. A car will be very important for your stay and we are happy to also consider a car exchange..
