Notre maison

Welcome to Aunt Mary's!

Our home is located in historic ST. IGNACE, Michigan (founded in 1671) on the STRAITS OF MACKINAC in Michigan's beautiful UPPER PENINSULA. From the living room of our cozy getaway home, you can watch the sun rise as you sip your morning coffee and make plans for the day.

Two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, as well as a washer and dryer provide all the comforts of home.

In the evening, enjoy the warm lake breezes from the deck and unwind with a glass of wine as the moon rises over Mackinac Island.

Life is good here . . .

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am a widower with two grown sons (21 and 23) and a wonderful girlfriend. I have worked for the State of Michigan as a Manager/Supervisor for more than 20 years, and my girlfriend is a writer. We are in our mid-50s, love to sail, and have adventurous spirits. I am a good housekeeper, but pale by comparison to my better half. We would be interested in house swapping for 1-3 week periods. Please feel free to e-mail me for more information as I would be happy to answer any questions.

This is our first time house swapping, and are interested in learning all about it.

The Straits area offers many different things to do, especially if you're interested in early American and maritime history. Visit Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City (just 5 miles away); explore Mackinac Island and its 18th century Fort Mackinac; or just sit back and relax on the deck and watch the ocean-going freighters and ferryboats glide by. Other attractions in the area include the magnificent, five-mile-long Mackinac Bridge which links Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas; Mackinac Island, where no cars are allowed (just a 20-minute ferryboat ride away); lighthouses; the beautiful white-sand beaches of one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world - Lake Michigan; and so much more.
There are a number of great restaurants in St. Ignace serving fresh whitefish caught in local waters. (I could even be coaxed into leaving you a sample of my 'famous' smoked whitefish spread!)
St. Ignace's golf course offers spectacular views of Lakes Huron, Lake Michigan, and the Bridge; there is a casino just outside of town; and shopping downtown.
We know you will find our home relaxing and a great place to spend your holiday.
Visit www.stignace.com for more information about the area.
