Notre maison

We live in a lovely 3600 square foot, 13 year old home surrounded by a garden filled with flowers, and with a creek and walking trails directly behind. The house is extremely bright and open with high ceilings, few walls, and many windows. There are three large bedrooms (2 1/2 bath), with the master bedroom and bath having a fireplace. Three wooden decks extend from various sides of the house beckoning one for coffee and the morning’s paper or, perhaps, al fresco dining. The surrounding yard is a sea of green punctuated by roses and azaleas. A series of paths with hidden nooks and crannies has been cut into the bedrock, then hidden by the foliage.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Bill is an anesthesiologist, and I am a social worker. Our two children are grown, with their own families, and live in northern California. We retired this June, and are avid travellers; so a home exchange seems like a wonderful idea. This will be a first for us, although our friends and family have used our home often when we are away.

We love books, history and politics, music and singing (We have a Clavinova that is so much fun to play, and quite easy.) gardening (me), sports, photography and picnics at the beach.

Our cat, Jasmine, is an outdoor cat, and very loving and friendly. She would appreciate it if you would put food out for her each day.

We live in Poway in northeast San Diego. Poway is a lovely green basin the sides of which are thickly forested and gently sloping. It is an ideal place for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. A 200 mile long series of trails, maintained by the city, wind through Poway. The Pacific Coast is only a 20 minute drive away, and the drive traverses lovely Rancho Santa Fe. The quaint seaside village of Del Mar is directly west of us. Atmospheric La Jolla is just south of Del Mar. We are 12 miles from the world famous Wild Animal Park run by the San Diego zoo and featuring a wide diversity of animals in their natural habitat. A twenty minute drive in the other direction brings you to the Zoo itself, considered by many, the best in the world. Los Angeles is two hours away. There are 10 public golf courses within 15 miles, many featuring challenging (and hair raising) canyon and hill terrain. The wild and mountainous San Diego back country is two hours away. Thirty more minutes brings you to an exotic desert at Borrego or the commercial desert at Palm Springs. Downtown San Diego with the brand new Padre Stadium is a 25 minute drive south. Ten more minutes takes you across the San Diego Harbor on a high, ribbon of a bridge to the charming community of Coronado with the old dowager Hotel Del beckoning from a lovely beach. The Poway weather is generally wonderful filled with sunny skies and mild temperatures.
