Our home is a comfortable, restored 1915 Craftsman 2-story bungalow in beautiful, walkable, livable Portland, Oregon. Recently remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, with artist's studio or sun room. We are located 1 hour from skiing and hiking on Mt. Hood, 1 hour from the Columbia River Gorge for hiking and windsurfing, and 1.5 hours from the Pacific Ocean. Portland is a friendly, progressive and environmentally friendly city just 3 hours south of Seattle, Washington, 4.5 hours from Vancouver, BC, and a 12-hour drive north of San Francisco. Come see the American Northwest.
We are David and Mila, a retired couple with grown children and grandchildren who also live in the Portland area. David was a public transit consultant, and Mila most recently worked in the physical therapy department of Portland's largest medical center. She is a watercolor painter and active in Oregon's art community. We have not exchanged homes before, but are looking forward to the experience. We are particularly interested in visiting Ireland and Mexico for 4-6 weeks periods. We could also be lured almost anywhere.
Our house is located in the Hawthorne/Mt. Tabor area of southeast Portland, a trendy district with hip shops, great restaurants, bakeries, brew pubs and coffee houses. 5 minute walk to Mt. Tabor Park and 10 minute walk to shops, entertainment, etc. Good for biking with easy access to public transit.
