Notre maison

Our home is a charming early 20th century vintage clapboard and shingle house with a welcoming front porch, private backyard, and a back deck overlooking a beautiful perennial garden. We live in a tightly knit neighborhood 5 minutes bike ride from the Natick Common, the center of town. The interior is warm and homey with golden maple flooring throughout that catches the sunlight. Our kitchen, recently renovated is large, very sunny and colorful and looks out over the garden and patio. The family room with piano and french doors opens to a deck with flowering potted plants where you can enjoy your morning coffee at a bistro table. With antiques and art work throughout, many have likened it to a bed and breakfast. There are five bedrooms, the master bedroom with king, one with queen, one with full and two with twin size beds. The three bathrooms are all full, two with tubs, one with shower.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a family of 4. Wendy is an artist and high school art teacher as well as an avid gardener and yoga practitioner. Her studio is located behind the house and is available for use during your stay. Peter worked in high tech for decades and is now contemplating his next career. He takes our dog Benny for long walks in the many forests near our house, reads a lot and tries to be a handy man about the house. Our daughter Francesca, age 20 attends Ithaca College and studies film and TV production. Matthew, age 17 is a junior in high school and enjoys his job as a restaurant host, snow boarding and his friends. We have had two previous successful home exchanges with wonderful families. We enjoy visiting new places and getting to know people.
From these past experiences, our neighbors and friends have been quick to extend invitations to families visiting our house so you will get an inside look into life in America.

Just a half an hour drive, Boston is full of attractions such as the Museum of Science, the Freedom Trail highlighting key places and events from the American Revolution, the U.S.S. Constitution known as "Old Ironsides", Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard, MIT, Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, John F. Kennedy Library overlooking Boston Harbor and many more! We are a 10 minute walk from the train to Boston and 10 minutes from the Massachusetts Turnpike both providing quick, easy access to Boston and Cambridge. The possibilities are endless if you are willing to drive 2-3 hours including the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the coast of southern Maine, (fresh lobster anyone?) Providence, Rhode Island, the coastal estates of Westport, and most of Connecticut. Natick has a new upscale shopping mall featuring Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus and many high-end designers. Our neighborhood is quiet as we are on a dead end street and ideal for children of all ages. A 5 minute walk will take you to Dug Pond to swim, canoe, fish and go for walks. Natick is a historic town incorporated in the 1600's and downtown has some striking late 19th century architecture. It offers coffee shops, restaurants, library and weekly farmer's market on the Town Green. The Center for the Arts in Natick (TCAN) features an intimate setting for concerts and plays almost nightly. Amazing Things is a smaller version in neighboring Framingham. Both venues somehow attract internationally known artists and prices are very reasonable. Park Street Ice Cream is a popular destination next to the Common. We are 15 minutes from beautiful farmland and wonderful hiking on nearby nature trails.
