Notre maison

We have a spacious 4-bedroom house that is clean and very comfortable. The first floor features a very open floor plan with living room (and piano), dining room, family room, kitchen, and WC, a screen porch and deck overlooking yard with play structure for kids. We have perennial flower gardens in the front yard. The family room has a gas fireplace. Upstairs, there are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Very breezy. Central air conditioning available as well. We have three cats that we hope will stay with the house.

I am a college French professor who will be accompanying a group of students and adults to France this May. At the end of the student trip, my husband and 5-yr-old son will join me in France for two weeks of vacation and the three of us would like to stay in the Paris area.

We live in a very pretty, friendly, quiet wooded neighborhood that is right next door to a nature preserve (prairies, ponds, woods). Some shops, bank, pharmacy, restaurants, library, public swimming pool, skateboard park are accessible by foot or by bike. By car, our house is only minutes from the city center and the historic capitol building. Madison is a charming and exciting capital city with a beautiful and well-known university campus and many interesting cafes, shops, ethnic restaurants, bars, museums, and a very vibrant music scene (especially the Blues). Madison features two lakes, city bike trails and many hiking and biking trails within 1-2 hours of the city. Chicago is about 2 1/2 hours away by car (approx. 3 hours by bus connection). We have bikes and equipment for tent camping!
