Notre maison

We live in a beautiful country home (converted church, circa 1869) that has been in the local papers as well as a magazine. It is unusual, as it was once a place of worship. The home was converted by the previous owners who did all the work themselves. It is tastefully decorated with "church" treasures. Our home has 3 bedrooms (1 king w/master bath, 1 full and the boys room has a twin bed and double futon. 3 full baths, a spacious eat in kitchen (seats 6) w/double oven, family room and a large living room (with dining room) attached but separate. The upstairs overlooks the huge living room surrounded by 12 foot tall church windows, above the dining room (seats 8) is the choir loft.. in here is another TV and elliptical machine. The original hard wood floors remain throughout the downstairs. It is hard to explain the beauty of this house as it is so unusual. Many people mistake it for a working church and hence the sign in the front foyer "Private Home, Please ring the bell" There is access to the steeple which my husband has made accessible (for those brave enough to climb the ladder) up to the stairs he built for the rest of the climb to the top. Once up top, you can see for miles as he also installed windows in all four sides of the steeple. Everyone who visits our home says it has such a feeling of peace inside. We have 2 vegetable plots in the back where you can pick your own delicious veggies.

  1. My name is Mary, I am a stay at home mom. My husband Dan, is in sales with a company who specializes in wholesale building supplies. We moved to PA from New England about 16 years ago. We have been married for 27 years. We have 3 young adults all in College (Yikes). We are newly empty nester's as our youngest just flew the coop. :( My husband and I love to travel and will work with you regarding our/your vacation time. We are interested in trading homes in Massachusetts & RI (near beaches), NJ Shore, Maine, NC or SC, the Caribbean, Bermuda and France.

We are located in the Lehigh Valley part of PA. Absolutely beautiful country surrounded by peaks and valleys. Bear Creek ski resort is approximately 5 miles from our home. Dorney park/Wild Water Kingdom is just min. away. Lehigh Valley is one of the fasted growing areas in PA, as we are only one and half hours from both NYC and Philadelphia, The Pocono's is approx. 40 min up the pike. The NJ shore is also 1.5-2 hours from here. Don't be surprised if you see a few Amish people, as Lancaster, PA is up old Rt. 222 with lots of Amish farms in between. We have historical Bethlehem, a quaint Christmas Village, the next town over, which hosts many events during the year including Music Fest in August. A 10-day festival showcasing more than 600 live performances. And for those of you with small children we have Sesame Place, another amusement park for the little ones. And Hershey, PA (chocolate town) about 45 min away, as well. Across the street we have a local golf course, park with basketball hoop, baseball field and tennis courts as well as children's playground. There is so much to do, it is hard to put it all down. (The nearest Airports are Newark, NJ or Philadelphia) We also have a local airport called ABE which is only 15 min. from our home.
