Notre maison

Complete Privacy on two acres. This is the island to get away from it all!! 2,700 square feet of home with private decks and stunning ocean views from every room in the house!! In the winter you can sit on the decks off the living room or master bedroom and watch the whales play. (Humpback whales migrate to Hawaii from Alaska and elsewhere beginning in December and leave by early April.) There are three bedrooms with three bathrooms, a very large living/dining room, a large eat-in kitchen with breakfast nook and all amenities. there is also a one bedroom separate apartment on the garden ground floor level, with a complete kitchen, living dining area and attached private bathroom and bedroom with a queen size bed. This now bedroom apartment has it's own balcony with the same view as the upstairs three bedroom unit.
Molokai is the most unspoiled and least commercial of all the islands in the Hawaiian chain. Everything is very low key and laid back on this island. It boasts the tallest waterfall and the longest, most pristine white sand beach in all the islands. the east end of the island in halawa valley boasts the tallest waterfall in the Hawaiian islands. Use this home as your base to explore the entire island.
The Master bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, two night tables, desk with chair, and a large walk in closet. The second bedroom has two twin beds. The third bedroom has two antique single beds. Please call owner at 415-491-4567 if you need more information or email us. We have a gardener who comes in every Tuesday and a cleaner. You can hire Theresa for $60 for a full cleaning on departure.

Quartier

Life in Molokai can be too quiet for some people. There are very few restaurants, and very little night life. There is live music nightly at the Molokai hotel and on Sat nights we have jazz, and on Sunday afternoons a free hula show at the Coffee plantation. (Please check though because times can change depending on the season) You can also visit a Macadamia nut farm.
BUT MOSTLY IT IS COMMUNING WITH NATURE! Going to our beautiful uncrowded beaches, taking hikes and going to listen to music.
Our neighborhood is a development of two acre lots called Kawela Plantation . We are 4.5 miles from the town of Kaunankakai which has a few grocery stores, an art gallery with wonderful artwork, a hardware store, a wonderful ice cream store called Dave's, a bicycle shop, a dive store, etc., and Kalele Bookstore with the world's friendliest owner who always has all sorts of special interest events and book readings, etc. The main street of Molokai is quaint and charming with the feel of "small town USA". There is little traffic on the island, unlike the other islands, no traffic lights, just a few stop signs. People say it is the way Maui used to be 30 years ago.
My husband and I swim at the local public pool; there are public tennis courts if you are a tennis player. You can hike or pay someone to take you sailing. you can Kayak and we can loan you a kayak or you can snorkel. We have the longest fringe reef on the south shore of Molokai. So you can see some beautiful fish in our waters and manta rays and giant sea turtles and of course the whales in the winter who migrate to the warm waters of Alaska for the winter months to give birth to their young.
Often we just sit on our lanai and look at the ocean and read a good book. There are many daily flights on Mokulele airlines or Makani Kai airlines to the islands of Maui or Lanai which you can visit for the day or stay for a couple of days if you are seeking more action.
