En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My name is Barb, My husband is Dave and we are christians. Dave has lived in the Upper Peninsula (U.P.) all his life. He loves to fish and has done so most of his 50 years. He also loves to hunt. I'm originally from the Lower Peninsula, but grafed in up here 13 years ago. It was like taking a step back in time 20 years for me. But what a welcome. I love it up here and many of the guests that come to our home agree. We have a shitzu-poodle cross 11 year old, and a mainecoon cat 9 months old they are both people lovers and greet all our rental guests.

Most people like to use it for a home base to site-see as we are in the center of the tourist area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are also on the famous groomed Bill Nichols ATV/snowmobile trail. You can hike it or you can rent ATV's and ride it. There are many lakes to fish or swim, and Lake Superior one of the largest bodies of fresh water in the world! There are parks, casinos, ski resorts, museums, many water falls, Michigan Tech U offers hockey games and other things to see and do. See the unique lift bridge in Houghton, the lake of the clouds in the Porcupine Mts, the unique town and fort in Copper Harbor. And way too many more to mention. All these places have deep historical roots from the mining days, and mines to tour. More than you can see in a week! Please note we are 25 miles from 3 large towns in 3 different directions. So this is not for you if you don't like the country! But if you want a break from the fast life and a step back in time, this will full-fill that dream. In the winter we are in the snow-belt, meaning we get LOTS of snow. The temps run from 30 degrees to -30 degrees. The snowmobilers from all around come here to ride or ski. Summers are usually 50-80 degrees. So it is pleasant in the summer. If you've never been to Michigan, I think it is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. Especially the U.P. You might even see a bear!
