Notre maison

Sweet summer cottage! A quiet, relaxing retreat near Brunswick Maine however 20 miles out to sea over 2 other Islands and 3 bridges! The drive out to Bailey Island is a series of postcard images!

Perfect setting for a peaceful, unhurried summer vacation! Vintage cottage has recently renovated kitchen, open floor plan, 3 bedrooms, porch and lots of outdoor living. Quiet other than the sound of screeching gulls and crashing waves. Walk to famous Cribstone Bridge, local restaurants, authentic lobster pounds, and rocky coastline. Close to Freeport outlet shopping, kayak rentals, Maine Summer Music Theater in Brunswick, and lots of groomed hiking trails.

Cottage is unheated. We do have a winter house on the same property however and willing to exchange as well.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. A a child, I summered on Bailey Island with my family - cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents - never had to endure the summer heat or humidity of city life! The cottage has been my summer refuge for the last 50 + years. We have since built a small year round house on the same property as the cottage and we welcome family and friends to the camp.

We are now semi retired: Paul is a commercial photographer and I have worked as a photo stylist and occasionally design interiors of restaurants and residential space. Most of the time we are enjoying one or more of our 5 grandchildren!!

Within 1 hour of Bailey Island explore Portland Maine, a mecca of fine dining and fascinating harbor full of shops, museums and events. In Boothbay Harbor go on a whale watch, charter a sailing vessel or visit world renown Maine Botanical Gardens. Great outlet shopping in the village of Freeport, 30 minute drive.

Closer to home, a twenty minute drive, Brunswick Maine is the home of the International Music Festival at Bowdoin College and the Maine State Music Theater. And on the Island learn to kayak, pick out lobsters to steam at one of several authentic lobster pounds, take a 2 hour boat excursion on the Island Romance or simply hike the rocky coastline. Plenty of public beaches and views of Casco Bay and its 300+ islands!!

Island life is free and full of the wonders of nature. Come see for yourselves!!
