Notre maison

Our home is spacious and yet very cozy. We have three bedrooms, large media room, office, two and one-half baths. The house is beautiful. Every window in our home looks out to Puget Sound so the views are amazing. During the spring, summer and fall months you can sit on the deck and watch seals, otters, whales, bald eagles, great blue heron and all sorts of wild life. We are very flexible and the dates that we have suggested could be changed around.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My name is Mary and my husband is Bruce. Bruce and I have travelled all over the world for both pleasure and work for the last 30 or so years. A love of history and old castles keeps us going back to Europe frequently. We love to cook, travel, drink wine (of course in moderation) entertain friends, go to the theater, read, hike on the rare occasion exercise (which should not be in moderation). We laugh at ourselves all the time and generally have a great time. We have three grown children between us. We are a close family. Bruce is a industrial engineer and pretty much travels Monday through Friday every week. My background was in design and marketing but now I have a career selling real estate on Whidbey Island. Our jobs are flexible enough that we can live anywhere in the United States. We chose Whidbey Island because it is easy to get to Seattle and the airport. More importantly, Whidbey Island it is simply the best small community in the country, not to mention one of the most beautiful areas in the country. We are always adventurous, we would never take a cruise on one of the massive cruise lines, instead we opt to travel independently. We typically begin to plan the next trip within two days of returning from the last. We have not yet done a home exchange but we are interested in trying to arrange one. We have discussed this with many people who have been successful.

We live on six wooded acres of land so the area is very private and quiet. You do not hear cars or people, just birds and seals. We live on an Island so you must take a ferry to get here. The ferries run frequently and are user friendly. We are within an hour and 15 minutes from Seattle and within two and one half hour from Vancouver. Whidbey Island has many small villages to visit within 10 to 15 minutes from our home. There are plenty of activities on Whidbey depending on your tastes. The fishing, clamming, and crabbing is excellent. We are famous for our excellent mussels. Three major national and local parks are on the Island and they offer great hiking and walking trails. Our community discourages chain stores in favor of locally owned business, therefore, we do not have a Starbucks but we do have excellent coffee houses, great restaurants and unique shopping. We are also a community of artist and writers. We have festivals somewhere on the Island just about every weekend. We have a superb local live theater group and the most unique movie theater that you can imagine (First run movies on weekends and foreign films on weeknights). There are many beaches to visit on the Island including the one just below our home which is our private beach. You will find that you are usually two conversations behind checking out of the grocery store. People are always friendly and always helpful.
