Notre maison

Our home is open, full of light and fresh ocean air, with a mirrored wall on one side of the living room, to bring in more of the ocean and natural setting of the park next door. We have a direct view of the ocean from the kitchen, dining and living rooms. The wraparound lanai and large sliding glass doors on two sides give it a very spacious feeling. Both morning sunrises and evening sunsets (we face west) light up the sky with drama on a daily basis and the pounding surf lulls us to sleep at night. Our doors are rarely closed.

It is tastefully decorated in warm tropical colors, the floors are tiled and flow out onto the lanai. We have thick area rugs throughout. The bedroom is carpeted and has a walk-in closet and master bath. The guest bathroom is a half bath and we have our own washer and dryer. We have our own private, gate-entry into the unit and are located on the 5th floor in a secured, gated building. The beach is right below our lanai, and swimming pool, jacuzzi and tennis courts are also on the property.
Most people who come here say it is "the best kept secret on Oahu."

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am retired and do photography. My husband and I were married on our beach 21 years ago, while we were still living in Seattle. Shortly after, we took sabaticals and scuba dived all around the South Pacific for 6 months. We bought this unit a few years ago for a second home, then, after retiring, we sold our home in Seattle last fall and moved over here. After an unexpected illness he passed away and I am looking to return to Seattle. I am hoping to find a long-term home exchange starting about April 2007 so that I can have 4- 6 months or even a year to figure out where I want to live in the area. Upon finding a place, I would most likely be putting my condo in Hawaii on the market to sell. I have 3 sweet, well-behaved indoor cats who have been declawed and neutered/spayed and they would need to go with me as part of the exhcange. I have a Nissan Maxima that will come with the exchange but have a car in Seattle so will not need one.

This is a perfect spot for an artist, author, individual or couple who want to be away from it all, have the peace and serenity of just sitting on the lanai or walking the beach. It is just as great for one who wants the excitement of body surfing, kayaking, scuba diving and fishing. There is a surf shop just down the road, as well as a marina. We are about as far away from all the tourists in Waikiki as you can get, yet only an hour away, should you want to go in to town for dinner, a night at the theater, check out the galleries and museums, or hike up to Diamond Head.

We are located on the leeward side of the island so it gets more sun and less rain. It is also the rural end of the island so it is limited as far as shopping and dining but there are two beautiful golf courses within 10 minutes, plus two more at the Ko Olina Resort only 20 minutes away, where you can also find several good restaurants and 4 quiet lagoons, when our waves get too big (usually in winter). If you are considering the possiblility of moving to Hawaii but want to try it out first, this would be the ideal way to do it. The other islands are also only a short (less than an hour) distance away.
