Notre maison

Our home has been lovingly cared for for the past 25 years. The main level has the largest bedroom and one bath, office, open concept living and dining areas and kitchen. The lower level is family area with cable-access TV and table tennis, washer & dryer. Upper level has two bedrooms and bathroom. There is a large screened in porch along the back of the house and a one-car garage. Two decks go out from the porch, one with a gas barbeque grill and a larger one overlooking the yard for sitting outside. Flower gardens make up the back yard. There are baseball fields and a lovely walking trail behind the house along the river that runs through town. The house is cozy, comfortable and welcoming, but not elegant.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are two, Jim & Carlo, who have been together for almost four years. We both majored in French at university and Jim was a Peace Corps volunteer in French West Africa. We love traveling in France, where we are currently living in the village of Montlaur, Aude, SE of Toulouse. We've rented a house here, staying until Nov 15, 2010. The house we list here is also rented, to a retired couple who have expressed an interest in an exchange to France as well. Our goal for our 10 months in France is to regain our French fluency and experience as closely as possible daily life in France. Carlo taught high school social studies and economics for more than 30 years. He has been retired for almost five years. Jim worked in education as well, as an administrator He retired summer 2009 from the position of executive director of the adult literacy agency that serves our area. Jim has two sons, both of whom have small children and both of whom will visit us here in Montlaur this year. Carlo is Italian by heritage so a visit to Italy as well as stays in Paris and other parts of France are in our plans.

We are walking distance from downtown in a city of just under 30,000. Restaurants, children's museum, local history museum, shopping, educational and recreational facilities are centrally located. Easily accessible by car are the ocean (15 miles), the White Mountains (less than 2 hours) and Boston (65 miles). The cultural center of the New Hampshire Seacoast area is Portsmouth, 15 miles from Dover. There is convenient train service from downtown Dover to downtown Boston and north to Portland, Maine.
