Lovely views, feeling of privacy yet right in village. Easy walk to 3 fine restaurants, village center and harbor.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Lauren and I are on the faculty of the Maine Maritime Academy, a small maritime college in Castine. I teach navigation, meteorology, and sailing, and she teaches Marine Geology and Physical Oceanography.

We have a small dog (a miniature poodle) that we can leave for you to play with, or we can find a home for her with friends. We have two cars which you could use (a Plymouth minivan and a Toyota Camry).

Castine is one of the most historic and scenic towns on the US East Coast. (For a description of the history of the town, visit ) Well preserved example of a typical New England harbor town, with historic markers that tell the history of the area. It is a very quiet town perfect for walking on the quiet streets, in the public woods, and on the public beach (but these are not white sand beaches here!).

There is a fine golf course, tennis courts and yacht club within a 5 minute walk.

The world famous Acadia National Park is 1 hour drive.

September and October are gorgeous months in Maine, as the weather starts to cool off and the leaves turn amazing colors.
