Notre maison

Ours is a recently renovated house which is over 100 years old. The first floor has an open plan, with a living/dining area and kitchen nearby, and glass doors leading to gardens on 2 sides of our house, and to a sweet gravel driveway with beautiful pine trees. On the 2nd floor, we have a beautiful sunroom/family room, and 2 bedrooms. A master bedroom, study, bath and roof deck are on the third floor. The house is sunny, open, and filled with windows. We have a piano for your use, and lots of toys on the second floor for the use of small children.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a husband and wife in our 40's, with 3 children, ages 9, 7,and almost 5. My husband runs a non-profit company that teaches engineering to urban middle and high school kids. I am an architect who loves to garden and to be involved in community affairs, as well as manage our family's activites!

We have exchanged houses before, with great success. My husband and I have traveled all over the world. We love to travel and would be interested in going almost anywhere. We have a lot of flexibility, but around school vacation time would likely be best.

For summer, 2006, we have scheduled a trip to Ireland on July 1, where we'd love to find a house or apartment for about a week. Then we will go to to Holland (or Denmark?), where we'd also like to find a place to "live" for 2 weeks before returning to Boston on July 23. We will be traveling with another family who lives nearby, with a similar house, (listing #6739) so we could exchange with another couple of families.

We hope to go to Maui, Hawaii for Christmas, 2006-7, and would love to exchange there for a couple of weeks.

We would be intersted in going someplace fun for February or April vacations, 2007 (around Feb. 17-24, 2007, and around April 13-22, 2007). And because we've been so busy with our work, we have not yet planned this April vacation (next week!) April 14 - April 23 or so, 2006, so give us a call or email!

We'd love to go to Israel, Europe, Canada, Scandinavia, Iceland...

Though our house feels as though it belongs in the country or a small town, we are in an amazing relaxed urban location.

We are a 7 minute walk from either Davis Square, Somerville, and Porter Square, Cambridge. Davis Sq. is often described as one of the hippest places in the US for its restaurants, bookstores, comedy club, theater, etc. Porter Square is equally interesting, with shops, clubs and restaurants.

Both Porter and Davis Sqs. are on the subway line (Red Line), 20 minutes from downtown Boston. We are a 20 minute walk from Harvard Square. There is a bike path that goes 14 miles west from Davis Square, and a commuter train station at Porter, with trains going both into the city, and far out into the countryside. We are also in a great location for exploring the rest of New England.

We would be happy to exchange bikes (we love to ride bicycles) and we have a 1995 Honda Odyssey (holds 7) that we would also be happy to exchange.
