En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a family of four. I am a part-time secretary and stay-at-home mom for our two elementary school kids. My husband is a professor at Indiana University. The entire family will be going to Perth Australia for the 2009-2010 academic year while my husband is on sabbatical. We are trying to find a short-term non-simultaneous exchange with someone in or around Perth who is interested in experiencing the great American town of Bloomington with its "small town feel and big city cultural opportunities." We travel every June and July to visit family in the states and our house would be available during that time.

We live in a wonderful family neighbourhood which is only 15 minutes from the campus of Indiana University. There you can enjoy world-class music and opera at the Jacobs School of Music, plus touring theatre, music, lectures, etc. Indiana University also has a national-championship mens soccer team, legendary basketball, and Big 10 football. Bloomington itself has a vibrant arts and live music community. It is the home to the international Lotus World Music Festival every summer and enjoys four gorgeous seasons including fall colors in local Brown County that are so breathtakeing people travel from states away to witness them. Hiking, kayaking, horseback riding and canoeing are also very popular in and around the many area lakes. Indiana is known as "the crossroads of America" and Bloomington is a short drive from many popular US cities: Indianapolis is only 80km (50 miles) away and the home of a children's museum, professional sports teams, and the Indy 500 racetrack. Chicago is only 350km (230 miles) away and the home of "The Magnificent Mile", Navy Pier, Millenium Park and the Sears Tower. Cincinnati is 240km (155 miles) away and has The Newport Acquarium, Kings Island Amusement Park, and The Cincinnati Zoo. Even New York City is only a 2 hour flight away!
