Notre maison

We have accepted a call to serve as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paris and its eastern suburbs (Torcy)from July, 2011 through December, 2012. We are looking for a long-term exchange that would cover most or all of that time frame. I am a retired neuropathologist(M.D.)medical school professor and my wife is an art broker and historian. We have four children and 21 grandchildren whom we will sorely miss while in France.

To exchange, we have a beautifully restored, hstoric plantation home near Richmond, VA, consisting of Italianate, Federal and Colonial wings. 14 lovely rooms furnished with period antiques and fine paintings (the number used can be adjusted to your needs and your exchange), 8 outbuildings, located on 60 rural acres (half open, half in woods, five acres of lawn with fine old trees in a park-like setting). All modern amenities. Superb vintage Bechstein 9 ft. concert grand piano, just restored. We run a second plantation home, nearby (www.winterham.com) as a B&B country inn and art gallery.

Because we maintain and restore our properties meticulously, we are able to take the finest care of your home, and we can supply you with several references attesting to our honesty, hard work and reliability.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My wife Kathy and I are planning to serve a mission for our church in Southern France for eighteen months (Nov. 2007--April 2009) and perhaps a few months longer. I am a retired neuropathologist who has taught at our local medical school for 33 yrs. My wife is an art historian and archeologist.

We are currently running a B&B and Fine Arts Gallery in our second plantation home, nearby (www.witnerham.com), the Italianate style of which is similar to that of our residence, Dykeland, that we are offering for exchange.

Dykeland is one of three homes that we have restored and placed on the National Register.
We are looking for someone with excellent references who will take good care of it during our absence. We may also have a house sitter living in a studio apartment in the back part of the home, so the exchangers may not have to feel committed to staying in our home the whole 18 months unless they wished to.
