Notre maison

Our home is a second floor modern townhouse on a waterfront marina located in the San Francisco Bay. It feels rather spacious with high vaulted ceilings and panoramic sliding doors bringing in the light and open up to a 30-foot long deck which overlooks the boat marina and a lagoon with ducks, turtles and many types of coastal birds. Many days we enjoy eating our meals out on the patio at the table under the umbrella. There are two bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds in each, 2 full bathrooms, a large comfortable family/TV room, dining room, fully equipped modern kitchen and a front and rear deck. In the family room there is a DVD player, stereo system 31 inch TV. The kitchen has granite counter tops, electric glass top stove, new oven, microwave oven, large new refrigerator/freezer, automatic dishwasher and all the small appliances you would need. The entire home is 1400 square feet. We have a swimming pool and hot tub for our neighborhood and this is included for your use.

  1. My name is Elaine. I am a retired teacher and also a landscape painter. I am excited about painting as much as possible while I am on vacation so I plan to bring my paints and easel with me. I have 2 adult sons and a sister who is also a painter and I would like to invite them to come to visit me while I am on vacation.

The small, charming town of Alameda is an island between San Francisco and Oakland, California. The weather here is very mild and it is a quiet and safe neighborhood. The local markets are within walking distance to my home where you can get anything you need. We are near buses and the "BART" train which takes you to all the nearby cities: San Francisco (20 minutes), Oakland and Berkeley (10 minutes) and the outlying suburbs. Local activities are many: bicycling, hiking, kayaking, sailing and other water sports. There are many kinds of live entertainment, theater, movies, music (from jazz to classical and opera) as well as restaurants for any taste: upscale or casual. You can also make short trips to visit the wine country of Napa or Sonoma (less than an hour by car), or Lake Tahoe (3-4 hours driving) or Carmel by the Sea (less than 2 hours). And of course everyone wants to see San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, China Town, Fisherman's Wharf or North Beach, which we call "Little Italy" where the food is wonderful and the cappuccinos flow. I will happily provide information about how to easily use public transportation. Some sports such as surfing or diving are not far away just south of San Francisco.
