Notre maison

Our recently refurbished family home was built in the early 20th century and is situated on a road like no other in York. The road is an idylic retreat with a typical English 'village' feel to it, whilst been situated just 1.5 miles from the city centre.
Our home has been tastefully designed by incorporating it's period features with a modern seal of comfort and luxury. Our open plan kitchen/dining space is perfect for social breakfasts, intimate meals with friends and family and lazying around! You are more than welcome to pick through our records and play some music of your choice on the turntable and audio system. Through the back we have a simple conservatory which leads into our quiet and sunny garden. In the warmer months of the year it is possible to sit and outside with the BBQ sizzling and music playing. Perfect!
Through the entrance hall and towards the front of our house is the living room. It maintains the style of the 1920s with a working open fire and traditional furniture. Upstairs the bedrooms are spacious and our bathrooms have been modernised with a shower and bath. 2 of the 3 bedrooms have king size beds and plenty of storage space. You will find lots of books to read throughout the house, should you wish to do so.
Our third bedroom can be used for a baby or small child. If you require the space for someone older, we are happy to help accommodate by removing our cot and putting something more substantial in it's place!

Quartier

Our road is an oasis village-like neighbourhood tucked in-between two areas of York called Holgate and Acomb. Every house on the road is different and at night time it is lit by traditional Victorian lamp posts. A short walk from the house (about 5 minutes) gets you to West-Bank park (great for a stroll) and Hob Moor. This connects you onto the famous Knavesmire race track, and a little bit further from here gets you to the river. We also live 2 minutes away from amenities such as a decent sized supermarket, pharmacy, post office etc. We honestly feel truly blessed to live in such an amazing part of York.

To get to the city centre it's self, it is either a 35/40 minute walk from the house, a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute bus journey. We also have the taxi company Uber who pick up from the house. The city centre is a historic site with a 13th century wall running around it, a river flowing through it and home to famous attractions such as the Minster, the Shambles (the original Diagon Alley!) and of course...the Vikings! There are plenty of sights to see, restaurants to eat at, museums to visit and gigs to watch. However, if you fancy heading out of York, why not try a bike ride or walk around the stunning North York Moors, a trip to the coast or the Lake District (only a short car/bus journey away) or a visit to London (2 hours on the train)?? The city is perfectly situated to enjoy in its entirety or use as a spring board into neighbouring cities and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
