Notre maison

Our 1930's cottage/bungalow (updated to 21st century in 2011) is just fifteen minutes walk from the heart of Woodbridge.
Our detached, private, comfortable, warm family home is located in a quiet part of the town, close to the landmark windmill and Farlingaye school - the latter does not represent a problem. Our rear garden provides for all day sunshine with patio areas at each end of the garden.
Our home is equipped with all mod cons but, as we are not great TV watchers out TV is small by modern standards. Books are plentiful in our study/computer room.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Len and Wendy an active retired couple in our late sixties/early seventies. Len was involved with finance and ICT and Wendy with adult education but, we have both been retired for over ten years so work is a four letter word. We are actively involved in our local community through Woodbridge Cruising Club, RNLI, U3A, OXFAM and Book clubs. Len has taken part in a round the world yacht race amongst many other adventures. Wendy has been an active walker and continues to be an enthusiastic gardener. Our family and especially our grandchildren keep us busy. We have been involved with home exchange for more than ten years and must have done more than forty exchanges involving New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA and Scotland. We can provide home exchange references if required.

Woodbridge is a historic rural town located on the river Deben. As you can see from the various web sites relating to Woodbridge, it is an attractive town with many places of interest. The river Deben is undoubtably the focal point of Woodbridge and its surrounds; it is a thriving yachting centre and boatyards, sailing, rowing and canoe clubs are to be found anlong the riverside walk. Footpaths and cycle paths are numerous as are pubs, inns and restaurants. The local beer is Adnams which is exported all round the world. Recreation facilities include: cinema, theatre, swimming baths, tennis courts, bowling green, boule pitch. The A12 link road from the M25 bypasses Woodbridge but provides for immediate access to all parts of Suffolk and bordering counties. Ipswich (the county town of Suffolk) is but a few minutes bus ride; Sutton Hoo, Constable country, Southwold, Aldeburgh and Snape are but a short drive away. Slightly further afield are Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and the Norfolk Broads but all are a comfortable day trip. Stansted airport is just over one hour away and offers cheap flights to mainland Europe. Woodbridge railway station provides for a direct line to London (Liverpool St) via Ipswich, Colchester and Chelmsford; a two hour door to door journey.
