Notre maison

Our house is a well-maintained, large, old Victorian semi. It's full of character and very comfortable. It has many rooms both upstairs and down, so I've no idea really how many square feet it all adds up to! The kitchen is newly installed with a touch control ceramic hob, and the shower room was only added last year. We've lived here for 30 years and really love the spacious yet cosy atmosphere.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. When our jobs came to an end two years ago we decided to take early retirement and go over to spend most of our time in Macedonia helping and serving a small church as well as serving the community. So we have a flat there in the Balkans and spend about 7 months of the year there. The rest of the time we spend catching up with our children and grandchildren in England. We also have one daughter and her husband who live in Tulsa Oklahoma so we like to visit USA and take a holiday with them in a resort by the sea. Our home is available very often. We both worked in a college previously, Norma as a teacher of English to foreign students and Tony as the bookshop manager.

Localisation

Quartier

We are within walking distance of Winsford, which is a small, shopping centre. There is a river runs through it, with lovely walks along the banks. We are soon out into the Cheshire countryside with many quaint pubs. The ancient Roman town of Chester is just half an hour away, with beautiful Tudor architecture. Liverpool, with its 2 cathedrals, Beatles museum and fascinating docks, is just 50 mins away. While Manchester, with its amazing shops, theatres and of course the best football team in the world, is just 40-50 mins away. Scotland is 4 hours north, London is 2hours [by train] south and the north Wales coast is just 1 hour away. Anywhere is possible from here! If you like walking, Wales is a beautiful area, with the possibility of climbing Snowdon [mountain].
