Notre maison

Tudor Cottage is situated in Tuddenham St Martin, a village in the Suffolk countryside between Ipswich and Woodbridge. It is "Grade II listed" by English Heritage, meaning it is of significant historical interest. According to the English Heritage website the core of the house is "late medieval" or probably around 1400. As a result and as you can image, the house has masses of character with low ceilings, wooden beams and lots of other period features.

Nevertheless there is a modern kitchen and bathroom with heating being supplied via storage heaters, underfloor heating in the living room and a lovely wood burning stove.

At the back there is a lovely private garden with views over the Suffolk countryside.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. There are just two of us, my lovely wife and I and our two happy friendly dogs. We work in financial services (not the dogs, they consume financial resources) We are open to all sorts of travel/home exchange opportunities so please feel free to get in touch and let's see what can be worked out!

We also have a little 15th century cottage in the countryside in Suffolk (ID = 59149), about 120 km north east of London. The cottage comfortably sleeps 4 but can sleep 5/6 using the third bedroom, currently in use as my wife's sewing grotto! This house can also be brought into any arrangement should there be any interest.

Tuddenham St Martin is a small village in the Fynn Valley about half way between Ipswich and Woodbridge. It is a very pretty, quiet little place with a fantastic local pub/restaurant (The Fountain) which people travel from miles around to visit. The village is situated on the River Fynn, along which you can walk in gorgeous countryside for miles in either direction.

Woodbridge, about 7 miles away is a lovely Suffolk river town with great shopping, excellent restaurants, a renewed cinema and theatre.

The Suffolk coastline is about 20 minutes away where there are beaches and lovely seaside towns such as Orford, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Walberswick.

Very closeby is Snape Maltings (, centre of the globally renewed Aldeburgh Music Festival and a great place to visit for cultural events all year round.
