“We spent a week in April at Zitta's place in Stoke Newington. We wanted to make our children discover London. So living in a typically London house was a plus we really loved. Zitta and family made our holiday easier (even from France, as we were locked outside the house!!), the house was perfect to us, near the supermarket and the bus stop to London center and we found there two cats as affectionate as our own cat, we spent great times there. We came back with lots of good memories. We found our house and our car just as we let them, plus a lovely drawing on our daughter blackboard that she hardly accepted to clean weeks later... So I can only recommend an exchange with Zitta and her family.”

We are in Stoke newington which is like a village within London it is a very diverse place. 30/40 mins West End (oxford Street Soho) 25 Mins City 30 Mins South bank. The major museums are a bit more of a hike about an hour. A bit of blurb from a tourist web site :-) Church Street forms the beating heart of 'Stokie' as it is fondly known by locals, a shopping street with provincial charm you find hard to believe barely one hour on foot from the City. Daniel Defoe was born in the street, and Edgar Poe studied here around 1820; two Anglican churches, around which the historic village grew, are also located here as is the entrance to the district's two main green lungs. The street has plenty of good restaurants 2 award winning. To the northwest, Clissold Park is a quintessential Anglo-Saxon urban park. Large neatly mowed lawns just waiting for football to played on them attract families from the surroundings every Sunday; an animal enclosure is home to a herd of deer and there is also an aviary. To the northeast, the entirely different Abney Park is a Victorian garden cemetery arboretum that is now overgrown. This nature reserve is open to the public during the day.
