Notre maison

Our house is part of a traditional Scottish Farm Steading consisting of 10 houses plus the original farmhouse. The Steading was built in 1995 and we are a corner unit which allows for fantastic views in two directions. Access is via a secluded and private road around one mile from the town centre. The house is on two floors with a large lounge/dining room with views over a field in one direction and over the town in the other. There is also a large kitchen and separate utility room downstairs. The kitchen opens onto a patio and out into the small garden. There is also a downstairs toilet. There is a separate room where we keep the dryer. Upstairs we have four bedrooms two of which have en suite shower facilities. The other two bedrooms are served by a toilet, bath and shower. Two bedrooms are available to exchangers.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a British/South African couple who live in Durban South Africa. Tony was an academic anaesthetist until he retired at the end of June 2012. Elizabeth trained as a teacher but is no longer teaching. We will spend the months of June through to October based in our house in St Andrews and then the rest of the year in Durban. Both our houses are available for exchange at certain times of the year. While in the UK we are keen to explore Europe as well as go down to London for a few days.

St Andrews is a small University town situated in the Kingdom of Fife in the East Neuk of Scotland and famous as the home of Golf. Being on the east the climate is mild with much less rain than other parts of Scotland. Our house is around a 20 min walk to the centre of town and so it is not absolutely necessary to have a car (a car exchange would however be available if required). The town has some wonderful stretches of sand both on the east and west sides. It has many restaurants and lots to explore. Further afield there are the east Neuk fishing villages all of which can easily be reached by public transport. A major supermarket is 5 mins walk away from the house. Edinburgh is around an hr and a half away.
