En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am an existential psychotherapist/psychologist and have an eleven year old daughter and have lived in Bath for three years. Previously, I lived in London for seventeen years. I have been privileged to have travelled extensively and have a wide interest in art, cultural affairs, travel, reading, yoga, exploring different cultures and food. I lead an active life and am keen to explore the opportunity of exchanging my home with like-minded people as it sounds a great way to explore another country/culture enabling me to feel what it is like to experience real life in that country, something that simply is not available when staying at a hotel.

We are located literally a ten minute stroll from the centre of in the historic world-famous City of Bath with stunning Roman Baths; world-famous Cathedral, romantic walkways and awesome restuaruants, shopping and of course the Circus and Royal Crescent. There are numerous museums (Jane Austin, Fashion Museum..), art galleries and antique shops. We are five minutes drive from the Bath Spa train station which takes you straight into London in just over an hour and ten minutes in the other direction to Bristol, also a historic City. Bath is often described as the Rome of Britain, for good reason, as its antecedents and world-famous sites such as the Royal Victoria Park with its famous Royal Crescent is all based upon linear architecture crafted from local Bath stone and designed by the famous Sir Ralph Allen. There is a beautiful uniformity and simplicity to its architecture which is home to some of the best restaurant and shopping experiences in Britain outside London. Further, for those who want adventure, Bath is located on the river Avon with a number of fast raft canoeing activities, punting or rowing for the less energetic and has a host of equestrian facilities within five miles of the house. Bath has the Avon and Kennet canal running through it, which affords plenty of opportunity to while the day away exploring the beautiful Avon and Somerset scenery from the sedantry comfort of a canal boat, which are available to hire all year round. Boat trips are run throughout the summer along with specific boats with catering facilities for those who wish to take advantage of dining whilst site seeing. There are a myriad of local golf courses located within the City environs itself, world-class sporting facilities at the academically leading University of Bath, host to the 2007 paraolympic games, including a brand new tennis centre, aquatic centre and fitness facility. For those who wish to explore the wider world outside Bath, one-day excursions are organised on a daily basis throughout the summer to Stone Henge and many other towns/cities of historical interest (i.e. Oxford, Cardif). Bath has a Bus station, running national express buses to all cities on an hourly basis and this is again within walking distance from the house. The neighbouring beautiful Cotswold village of Castle Combe where War Horse the now famous Spielberg film was filmed is but a fifteen mintue drive as well as the beautiful town of Bradford on Avon with its historic tea houses dating back over two hundred years and smallest pubs in Britain. Those interested in pubs, you will need to look no further, as Bath has more pubs per square mile than anywhere else in Britain, with a vast array of time-tested locally brewed ales, ciders and wines, which can only be found within the area. Bath is located very near to a number of world-leading wildlife parks, including Longleat Safari Park, which boasts a superb family day out.
