Notre maison

Our home is immaculate both inside and out. It offers two double bedrooms with lots of storage and comfort, with the third bedroom having been converted into a study, offering high speed internet access. There are two 'living rooms' - one is more formal with Hi-fi, a huge range of CDs for listening pleasure, fireplace, two new and extremely comfortable couches to sit (or lounge) on/large scatter cushions, and a traditional bay window overlooking the front of the property. French doors lead to the den, which is just so comfortable and cosy I spend most of my time in there! There is a large L shaped couch, again to loll on in comfort, a plasma screen tv, a huge selection of DVDs, lots of storage and upscale furniture, a fireplace again (this IS England after all!) and a new sisal carpet which is wonderful to walk on barefooted. Patio doors lead to the conservatory which is wonderful to sit in on an evening, overlooking our large and private rear garden. The kitchen is very modern and contains every conceivable gadget known to man (and woman!) It was the last room to be renovated, 5 months ago so everything is still very pristine. There are CD players everywhere (we love music!) We have a family bathroom and a shower, which as a couple is all we really need (our kids have grown and flown the nest)Apart from the new carpet in the den, most of our home has wooden flooring/tiling. We have a maid who comes in weekly and that of course would continue during our time away.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Aileen and Trevor, in our late 40s, who are travel crazy! We went to California 2 years ago, fell in love with the states and yearn to return. We have 2 cars for the use of, BMW and Audi tourers (?station waggons) both rock steady and bomb proof. We would seek car exchange also, as we'd like to do some travelling when we are over there) I am a counsellor and Trevor is a Rail Operations exec. (safety management) Given our work commitments we'd like to exchange between September and November 2009 for 2 - 3 weeks, the finer details to be worked to suit all! Please mail if at all interested, I'd be delighted to provide further information, pictures etc. We are pretty flexible and location is as important to us as exchange house. In other words we are not looking for a mansion! We'd prefer to be somewhere coastal or within easy access of the coast and I guess we'd consider anything. Happy to look after pets. :)

Peterborough is located in Cambridgeshire and is ideally placed for travelling to London (48 minutes by train), Cambridge (35 miles), York, Shakespeare country and the beautiful and wild north Norfolk coast. The city itself is located on the A1 (the great north road)which gives easy motorway access to all major cities. The railway station is a mainline station, with high speed trains connecting directly to all parts of the UK. Peterborough is steeped in history. The magnificent cathedral with its impressive architecture is the final resting place of Katharine of Aragon, first wife of Henry VIII. Flag Fen Bronze age archaeological site displays artefacts found on site in its museum including the oldest wheel in Britain. Peterborough museum has a brilliant hand-on archaeology gallery and contains one of the best collections of marine dinosaurs in the world. Oh, and the museum is reputed to be the most haunted in the city! There are many fine places to eat and shop, and ghost walks and tours abound. Whether your interests are sightseeing, stately homes, (Burghly House is in neighbouring Stamford, 7M) shopping, history, river trips, markets, entertainment, activities, sports, events or eating out Peterborough will surprise and delight you because it has something for all ages and tastes.
