Notre maison

Our house is a family home that was built in 2007. It is a semi-detached property with four bedrooms, a family room (kitchen diner and seating area) and a separate large living room. The house has a cosy but simple and contemporary interior and so is suitable for both families and couples. Three of the bedrooms are doubles with the main bedroom being en suite with a super king size bed. There is also a main bathroom and a downstairs toilet. The enclosed garden is small but has a patio seating area and a trampoline and climbing frame for children.

The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with a double oven grill, a Bosch ceran hob, microwave, dishwasher and a large fridge freezer as well as a wide range of smaller kitchen appliances. The large living room has an HD cinema system with an 80" screen, full DTS surround sound and a selection of films for both children and adults. There is also a standard digital TV, a Playstation 3 and Wii with a variety of games. Other facilities include central heating throughout, a washing machine and unlimited super fast fibre broadband. The house comes with a private parking space and the option of a car swap if that is of interest.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a friendly and active family with two well-behaved daughters aged 8 and 9 (as of January 2016). We are looking for holidays in Europe that offer activities for all the family, particularly near the coast or in the mountains but also with historic towns nearby. Ideally, destinations will be accessible by train and will include the options of a car swap.

Debbie works for the development charity Oxfam and David works on energy policy mostly for the IEA. We do not smoke and do not have any pets. We love music, film and theatre and go to a couple of music festivals each year. We enjoy being outside walking in the woods and camping. The girls are very active with their swimming, football (David coaches), Woodcraft Folk (Debbie leads) ballet and trampolining. They also sing and are learning musical instruments.

Localisation

Quartier

Our house is in the centre of Headington which is a popular suburb of Oxford. It is in a quiet cul de sac, just a few minutes walk from a variety of local shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Within 5-10 minutes walk there are a number of picturesque parks including Bury Knowle with its beautiful trees and a wonderful children's play area and South Park with its views of Oxford's dreaming Spires. A 15 minute walk gets you out of Oxford and into local woodlands including the CS Lewis Nature reserve and the beautiful Shotover woods.

Headington is within easy reach of all the sites of Oxford, which are just 15 minutes away on buses that run every 5-10 minutes. Buses to central London are also just 5 minutes walk away, running 24 hours a day, and at least one every 30 minutes. The journey takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on the time of day. Excellent for nights out in central London. There is a direct bus service to Headington from Heathrow (about 1 hour) and Gatwick (about 2 hours).

Headington is a prosperous suburb, and our part of town seems to be occupied by a mixture of professionals with young families and retired people. We are close to Oxford Brookes University and most of Oxford's hospitals.
