Notre maison

Our home is a 100 year old Victorian house with many original Victorian features - stained glass window, fireplaces, sash windows, high ceilings and many decorative details that the Victorians were fond of. It has 3 good sized bedrooms, a comfortable lounge with cable television and broadband internet. There is a large kitchen/diner for family meals and a childrens playroom full of toys and TV, Playstation, DVD player etc. The playroom leads onto the garden which has a large raised deck with table, chairs and parasol for outside dining. Our lawn area is mainly for our children to play on and there is also a sandpit, playhouse, slide, swings and plenty of outdoor toys to play with. It is on a quite street with friendly neighbours and easy access to Nottingham city and the surrounding areas. I have also written an information pack containing all the details about things in the house, the local places to visit, local shops, places to eat, transport, emergency numbers etc.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Vickie and Andy, a married couple with 2 lovely children - Isabelle, 5 and Brodie, 3 so there are plently of toys to play with. Andy works with children with Cerebral Palsy and Vickie works in marketing but is currently taking a year out to spend time with the children while they are still young. We love going on family holidays to places where there is lots to keep the children entertained - swimming, beaches, animal parks etc. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours. We would love to hear from anyone who is interested in visiting Nottingham.

Nottingham is in the centre of England which makes it an ideal base to visit other areas. It lies on the border of Derbyshire with the beautiful Peak District and is only 20-30 minutes by car. Historic Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood, is nearby and lovely for walking or cycling round. Whatever your interest, there are places that will suit you - whether you are after culture and fine dining, mountain-biking and walking or days out with the children. In Nottingham City you will find excellent shopping, dining, theatre, clubs, Nottingham Castle, historic pubs - the Trip to Jerusalem is the oldest Inn in England and built into the side of the castle rock. Nottingham has 2 theatres, 2 excellent concert venues and a world-class Ice Stadium. It is well served by public transport - buses and trams, so a car isn't necessary (but always makes life easier) and we can offer you the use of a Renault Megane for 5 people. The historic towns of Lincoln, Matlock and Warwick are all within easy reach and London and York are easy to reach by train. East Midlands Airport is 30 minutes from Nottingham and has a regular shuttle bus. For more information about Nottingham and the surrounding area look at:
