Notre maison

The property is an outstanding detached Edwardian townhouse designed by famous London architect RW Edis (who also designed the Savoy Hotel and many other London landmarks), with enormous grand rooms, high ceilings, stunning views to the front and rear, and a large walled rear garden backing onto the beautiful grounds of the Jockey Club.

Localisation

Quartier

Our house is in the center of Newmarket, a lively market town that is also the thoroughbred horse racing capital of the United Kingdom. Newmarket is a thriving town in its own right, surrounded by gorgeous horse farms, heaths, and rolling hills in all directions. All of the normal amenities (grocery stores, butchers, pet shops, antiques stores, clothes shops, restaurants) are readily available just a minute's walk from the house. The railway station, with direct links to the beautiful medieval towns of Cambridge (20 minutes) and Bury St Edmunds (20 minutes), is 5 minutes' walk from the house. London is 80 minutes by train or by car.
The Suffolk countryside around Newmarket is peppered with quaint medieval and Tudor villages such as Dalham, Long Melford, Lavenham, and Clare, as well as numerous traditional pubs, all within easy striking distance by car. Cyclists and walkers will also enjoy exploring the stunning hills and heaths within and surrounding Newmarket. The famous Devil's Dike is just minutes from the house.
