Notre maison

Our comfortable home is a first floor apartment with a master bedroom and en suite. There is also a second bedroom and a family bathroom. The apartment overlook the woodland in which this old English house is situated. It was built in 1883 for a member of the local gentry.

The house is situated in 23 acres of Land which is managed by a team of people employed to look after it. It is a gated community with security a priority. There is access to the local railway station which takes passengers to the main cities where connections can be made to other towns and cities as well as coastal areas of the north east of england.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are John and Kathleen Harrison. We are in our senior years and have 3 grown up children and one grandchild at the moment. John is a Director of Finance with a training development company that delivers training to young people. He also runs his own company which organizes scrabble weekends which he enjoys enormously. Kathleen is now retired from teaching Information Technology to students ranging from 14 - 19 years of age. She spends her time writing and is currently writing her memoirs. She also enjoys yoga, qi gong and is a Reiki practitioner. We both love travelling and would love to visit Australia to see our daughter and her family.

The Location is in the sleepy village of Wylam, Northumberland, which is a much sought after area with rail links into Newcastle Upon Tyne, and West to Carlise and Hexham Market Towns, There is also easy access to the A69 Motorway which goes east to the coastal area and west to the Lake District passing areas of outstanding national beauty and Hadrian's Wall. Wylam is about 50 miles from the Scottish border with Edinburgh Castle and the highlands of Scotland. Scotland and the borders are easily accessible via the A1 close by. The A1 also goes South to Durham, Yorkshire and onto London.
Wylam has three pubs, a school, village hall and restaurant. It
sits on the River Tyne and has picturesque views over the valley.
