Notre maison

Our home is comfortable, light and spacious. Downstairs we have a large kitchen/diner which has sliding doors that fully open on to the garden, a large living room, study, and toilet. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, three doubles and one single. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and toilet. The single bedroom belongs to our 11 year old daughter, so is full of toys and books all available to use if you wish. All the bedrooms are of a generous size. There is a separate toilet and shower room. The garden is enclosed and child friendly and there is a play house full of garden toys. For grown-ups a gas BBQ, table and chairs. There is parking for two cars in front of the house.

  1. We are Penny & Phil. We have 3 daughters, the two older daughters no longer live at home, but our youngest is 11 and very much still at home. Penny is an art teacher and I'm an IT Manager. We have had 4 very successful exchanges, stayed in some beautiful houses and met some lovely people. We look forward to many more.

Our home is situated on the outskirts of Alresford providing a very attractive base from which to explore the whole of Southern England. Walks into the countryside are right on the doorstep and there are a number of wonderful country pubs that serve excellent food and local beer, some of which are within easy walking distance. Alresford is a lovely small, friendly and safe town that has two small supermarkets, two butchers, a fishmonger and various other individual and quirky shops. It provides ample opportunity for outdoor activities or just relaxing in the cafes and restaurants. Alresford is a very picturesque and beautiful town which has a range of historic architectural styles. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the centre of Alresford. The ancient cathedral city Winchester is 15 minutes drive away and provides a wealth of attractions, good shopping, good restaurants, parks and a leisure centre.

Within easy driving distance there is the south coast towns and beaches, the New Forest, Bath, Oxford, Stonehenge and there are regular direct trains to London which takes one hour. The Watercress Line runs old steam trains between Alresford and Alton throughout the year. (10 minutes walk from the house)

Alresford is famous for its watercress which is grown in the clear waters which run in the chalk streams.
