Notre maison

A large red brick and flint Victorian country house dating from 1860 with large Gothic windows. On the very edge of small Suffolk village in an idyllic setting next to an old church yet only just over one hour from London. Spacious rooms with a very large kitchen. Beautiful views over a small valley and open country. Close to the small town of Needham Market and a short drive to such historic towns as Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and Norwich. The house is very light with airy rooms full of sunshine even in winter.

  1. I am a writer so I live here because of the peace and quiet although the house is in easy reach of town. Easy parking at Stowmarket railway station for day trips to London and other cities.

Just ten minutes from the large town of Ipswich with many shops and restaurants but in the heart of the country. Just over one hour from the heart of the city of London by train. Close to many historic Suffolk towns and villages with good pubs and restaurants. Ideal base for exploring the historic villages and churches of East Anglia. Also a short drive to the Suffolk coast and such picturesque towns as Southwold, Orford and Aldeburgh with its important international music festival.Needham Market, just five minutes away, has an excellent bakers and a good butchers shop.
