Notre maison

Recently refurbished three bedroom terraced house in a quiet street in the beautiful ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel which lies on the Fowey River. Downstairs is an entrance hall with shoe rack and stairs to second floor, storage under stairs, open plan kitchen dining room with door through to cosy living room. In addition to dishwasher, washer dryer, large fridge freezer we also have a La Pavoni espresso machine. From the kitchen there is a door leading to the terraced back garden with paved area and lawn with clothesline and shed. Very low maintenance, feel free to help yourselves to the herb garden. Upstairs is a compact bathroom with shower over bath tub, a large bedroom with child's cabin bed (room for a blow up on the floor), another double bedroom with double bed and views across the Fowey Valley as well as a small bedroom with a cot (can be converted to a junior bed if needed). The house has been freshly painted in a neutral decor and has new floor coverings throughout. It is small but not cluttered or cramped, it is a cosy, comfortable home. Note that we are at the top of a typically steep Cornish hill so the walk to town can be strenuous but the views are lovely.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a professional married couple in our 30's; Eloise, an Australian Graphic Designer and James a Cornish winemaker (we promise to leave samples for you to try!) We have two young daughters aged 4 and 1. We love to travel and met whilst working in the yachting industry in the South of France, we both still love to sail. Although we have never done a house exchange before we are very excited by the idea and would love to welcome others in to our home. We ideally would like to exchange with some Australians so as to visit Eloise's family near Melbourne.

Lostwithiel is an ancient stannary town and one of the most vibrant and lively communities in Cornwall. It is an ideal base from which to explore Cornwall as it is easy to access both the south and north coast beaches and beautiful fishing villages as well as other attractions such as the Eden Project and historical sites.
Antiques shops and fairs have made Lostwithiel the antiques capital of Cornwall while the wide range of independent shops provide everything from grocery and convenience goods to deli foods and gifts. There are excellent restaurants and pubs plus an award winning farmers market.
The beautiful River Fowey flows through the centre of town with a lovely beach for picnicking and swimming, it is crossed by an early fourteenth-century bridge with five pointed arches and there are many other lovely old buildings in the town. Restormel Castle (built in 1100's) sits looking down over the town and is a great place to visit, there is so much history here to explore.
Lostwithiel is also on the main train line from London through to Penzance.
