Notre maison

Our Victorian semi-detached house was built around 1880 and was given a large rear extension a few years ago. It is 1950 square feet. It has 4 bedrooms (one en-suite), family bathroom (bath and separate shower), a large (11 metres long) kitchen/diner with a sofa and wall-mounted TV (Sky & Netflix) with lots of children's toys, a downstairs toilet and a laundry room. There is also a cosy front room (also with TV & DVD player) and study area. There is a front garden and back garden with an outdoor 8-seater table.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Tom and Denise, both 37 year old lawyers. We are non-smokers. We have two children, a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. We moved to East Dulwich from north London four years ago and love living here. We both get the train into central London to work.

Our house is in East Dulwich, a fashionable family-friendly area in South London. We are a 10 minute walk to trendy Lordship Lane, which has great restaurants like Toasted (experimental small plates), Yama Momo (sushi), the Palmerston (modern British), Franco Manca (pizza). It also has North Cross market on Saturdays, which has food, jewellery and other stalls. There is a nice new independent cinema called the Dulwich Picturehouse, a celebrated butchers called William Rose and a great bakery called the Brick House.

We are located a 5 minute walk to Peckham Rye Park and 15 minute walk to Dulwich Park, which are both great parks for kids. Dulwich Village, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Dulwich College are all nearby.

The Horniman museum is a local favourite. It is 20 minutes' walk (or 5 minute drive or short bus journey) - it has an aquarium, regular exhibitions and a huge stuffed walrus! The gardens have a little zoo, outdoor musical instruments, and a farmers' market on Saturdays.

To get to central London, you can get the train from Peckham Rye station to London Bridge (9 minutes), Victoria (15 minutes), Blackfriars (16 minutes) or St Pancras (20 minutes). Or you can get the no.12 bus, which goes past Waterloo station, the Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus and then finishes at Oxford Circus, which takes around an hour in total. The no.63 bus goes across Blackfriars Bridge and past St Pauls Cathedral in around an hour. There are loads of other trains and buses depending where you want to go. The nearest Tube station is a 10 minute drive (Brixton station) or 30 minutes on the no.63 bus to Elephant and Castle. Getting to or from central London in an Uber cab costs around £15 and takes 30 minutes.
