Notre maison

Our comfortable, quiet 1920s-era home features a BBC designer 'makeover' garden. It will provide a tranquil base from which you can explore London -- it is located a 10-minute walk from the Piccadilly Underground (tube) line that will take you straight to Central London in 20 minutes. The house's style is clean, airy, and relaxed.

Located in a peaceful residential street, the house has three levels. On the ground floor is a living room with gas fireplace, half-bath (WC), kitchen, and dining room with French doors opening to a deck (with a diining table), and the leafy, inviting, fenced garden beyond.

The second floor has a spacious bathroom, a master bedroom with American king-sized bed, a bedroom with twin trundle-style beds, and a small study (with PC for your use) overlooking the garden.

The top floor is a large double bedroom with roof windows offering far-ranging views of North London and beyond. The top-floor room has two twin beds that can be used as two separate singles or one large King-sized bed.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Brian is a business journalist and Sheila works in corporate communications in financial services. Our three (well-behaved) daughters are 18, 15 and 12. We love to travel and explore new places. This prompted our move 12 years ago from Michigan to London.

We delight in sharing our adopted city with others and have traded homes very happily several times. We consider it a privilege to enjoy another family's home as our own, and we would treat yours with greatest care and respect.

Our London neighborhood is quiet and friendly. We live on a residential street with garden-fronted single-family homes.

Food shops, cozy pubs, and lovely parks -- in addition to the convenient tube and buses -- are an easy wak away. From the nearby Piccadilly line Underground (tube) station you can travel direct, non-stop straight to London's top attractions: museums (British Museum, National Gallery, Victoria & Albert, Natural History); historical sites (Buckingham Palace) ; theatre (Leicester Square, heart of the theatre district); restaurants; parks (Hyde Park, Green Park); and shopping (Harrods, Knightbridge).

If you'd like a holiday within a holiday, central Paris is three hours from our front door via Eurostar. Trains also offer easy access to such fine day-trips as Cambridge, Brighton, Bath, and many more.

If you fancy staying closer to home, our local 'village' is vibrant Muswell Hill. It features great shops, an art-deco cinema, restaurants, classic English pubs, and Toff's -- one of the best-fish-and-chip shops in London.

Nearby parks include Alexandra Palace Park with wide-ranging views of London; Highgate Wood (site of a Roman pottery); and famous 800-acre Hampstead Heath, capped by Kenwood House, a magnificent ?stately home' with a famed art collection (Vermeer, Rembrandt).

Our home a great base for travelers who want to enjoy all the attractions of central London, but also savor the everyday life of a very popular London residential area.
