Notre maison

Our home is a modern detached house built in 1994. We moved here in 2012 and in 2015 extended the house, adding a new kitchen, utility room and a larger bedroom for our eleven year old twin girls. The house has, by London standards, a fairly large and very secluded back garden. There is a play house and lots of space to eat outside. We grow our own herbs, berries and salad vegetables and these are squeezed in amongst the flower beds. The house is airy and filled with light and colour. We are all creative and there's an art room upstairs, also doubling as an extra bedroom. The house has a main bathroom, plus an en-suite and a downstairs cloakroom. The sitting room is a large L-shape, divided into a comfortable TV area with a large sofa and a quieter reading area behind. We love to cook and entertain and the kitchen is very well equipped. This is a happy family home which we hope other families will enjoy staying in. We have enjoyed two successful exchanges with French families so far.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are David, Leonie, Eve and Leah. David works at the National Portrait Gallery and is London born and bred. Leonie works in HR and has loved making our house into a lovely family home. Eve and Leah are eleven year old identical twin girls who are very happy and lots of fun. They love dressing up, Lego and art. We all love living in London and love to explore different parts of London to learn more about this fascinating and beautiful city. We also love our garden and spending time with friends in our local neighbourhood. We have organised our exchange for the Summer of 2018.

We live in East Dulwich, which is located about six miles away from Trafalgar Square. East Dulwich is a thriving and friendly neighbourhood with two gorgeous parks, many lovely shops, a great Saturday market and lots of restaurants and cafes. Dulwich Picture Gallery is a stroll across the park and has a great programme of exhibitions and family activities. East Dulwich also has a lovely cinema and both parks have an outdoor film season in the summer . There are indoor pools within walking distance and a lido (outdoor pool) a bus ride away. Public transport links into the centre of London are good and you can catch a bus to Oxford Street and all the sights from the end of our road. The over ground train link for journeys to East and North London is at nearby Peckham or Forrest Hill stations and is quick and reliable. The nearest underground (tube) station is either Elephant or Oval, each a 20-30 minute bus ride away. There is a Street Car hire place on our road and it is also easy to catch trains from Victoria or Waterloo to see places such as Brighton and other seaside towns etc outside of London.
