Notre maison

Our house is a spacious, stylish Victorian family home in a really nice part of London. We are very close to the centre of the city and yet this is a very relaxed and child friendly environment where our own children have many friends, where neighbours are helpful and where there is a sense of community. The house has been fully renovated but still has many period features such as fireplaces and stripped wooden floors - plus we have a small balcony on the top floor bedroom which has a distant view of the London Eye. Many of the rooms have been opened out to give more of a feeling of space and the house is good for accommodating lots of people without feeling crowded. Our children are now teenagers and so there is a wide selection of bikes - computers - and even a full sized table tennis table.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am a Producer at the BBC and Richard works for the Health service in Westminster. Our children are aged 17, 15 and 13 and we're all involved in sports and local life. We love exploring in London and spend a lot of time going to local markets, galleries and the theatre.

For 2015 we already have tickets to California August 5th - 22nd. We were going to travel but my Mum is now coming with us so we would like to find an exchange for some or all of that time

East Dulwich is a peaceful green enclave yet the city centre is in easy reach either by car or public transport. Our road has many friendly neighbours who will help you, it's a family orientated place and a large park with boating lake and bowling green is just round the corner. There are other parks and even woodland very nearby. You can explore around here, take a walk through the park to the art gallery in the village and there are tons of specialist shops, organic butchers and greengrocers, boutiques and even a traditional sweetshop! This area is renowned for its many great resturants such as traditional English and many Thai, Indian, Italian and French resturants - we love the local fish and chip place, appropriately named the Sea Cow! There are lots of lovely cafes, bars and some nice traditional English pubs, many serving food and where you can sit outside in summer months. There is a bustop at the end of our road where a bus will take you right to the heart of London but a short walk takes you to a station where you can get a train into the centre in about ten minutes. We are well placed for exploring the Kent and Sussex countryside in the south and coastal resorts like Brighton and Rye. The other nearby train station takes you into Kings Cross in about 10-15 minutes and from there you can catch the Eurostar to Paris. This is a great base for a relaxing break yet with London's art galleries, museums, theatres on your doorstep.
