Notre maison

The living room has a wood-burning stove and incorporates a dining area with direct access to the kitchen. The bedrooms comprise one double (sea view), one single (sea view) and one single used as a nursery which has a cot and a single bed. The bathroom, with a shower above the bath, is situated downstairs, as is another WC.

We have not recommended the property for those with restricted mobility as it is accessed down a set of steps, both front and back doors also have steps, and the washing machine is situated in a cellar, again with a large step down to it. However, we would be happy to supply additional photographs for anyone interested to make their own judgement.

Kinghorn is on the East Coast of Fife and is a good base for visiting Edinburgh or exploring the famous 'East Neuk' coastline, including St Andrews. The town itself has two 'blue flag' beaches, Kinghorn Beach and Pettycur Bay, both within walking distance of the house. We have a small selection of shops (newsagent, small Co-operative, baker, pharmacy, butcher, pubs), and nearby Kirkcaldy (3 miles) has a large selection of shopping, restaurants and supermarkets.

If you are interested mainly in visiting Edinburgh (with many attractions and events including the Edinburgh Festival and Hogmanay), then a car is not essential, as Kinghorn has its own railway station on the Fife Circle line to Edinburgh (40-45 mins by train). However, we would recommend a car for exploring around Fife, to see the wide range of historical and picturesque locations. In particular, Fife is an excellent location for golfers, with courses all around the coast, and of course the Old Course at St Andrews (45-60 mins by car), but there is lots to do for families too. The nearest airport is Edinburgh (40 mins by car).
