Notre maison

Comfortable first-floor (walk-up) apartment for 1 -2 (750 sq ft/80 sq m) in resident-owned estate, based in converted industrial buildings in Docklands (near Canary Wharf - ignore the reference to Barking, that was the nearest option offered by the site). Estate offers swimming-pool, gym, 24-hour security and friendly concierge staff. The flat looks out on to a landscaped square open to river views. My website has pictures and a floor plan.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I'm Patrick, a quiet, mature and responsible non-smoker. I work as a website editor (formerly university administrator), and have had exchanges to Paris (several times exchanging with the same partner), Amsterdam, Barcelona and Canada (Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal). I'm likely to be looking only for destinations I can reach by surface travel, such as western Europe or elsewhere in the UK.

Localisation

Quartier

Once the heart of London's docks and port (the biggest ship in the world for its time was built on the site of this estate), the Isle of Dogs is now partly a quiet residential area, and partly London's new financial quarter ('Manhattan-on-Thames'). Historic maritime Greenwich is 15 minutes walk away through a foot tunnel under the Thames as well as by train. London's multicultural history and present-day can be seen in lively markets at Spitalfields and Brick Lane, within easy reach.

A car is not necessary. New public transport links give good access to central London. From the Docklands Light Railway station 10 mins walk away, trains connect direct to central London via Bank or the Tower, or via the Jubilee Line at Canary Wharf. Buses connect to the District and Central lines at Mile End. 30 minutes to central London by direct river boat services from the pier by the estate.
