Notre maison

To enjoy your stay here A CAR IS ESSENTIAL SO IF YOU ARE NOT DRIVING HERE YOU NEED TO HIRE ONE FOR YOUR STAY, however, you can get the train to Edinburgh from our local station in Dunbar, 5 miles away. There is an hourly bus service from here (100 meters away) into Dunbar and Edinburgh, approx 1 hour).

Our home is a lovely, light and warm farm steading conversion of a former grain store completed in 2008. With three feet thick walls and lovely warm red sandstone exterior. The lounge, dinning, kitchen area is full of light with double patio doors to the South letting in lots of light and warmth. We have a lovely double bedroom with a super kingsize bed and a lovely walk in shower room next door. The second bedroom is used as an office but does have a big and comfortable double divan settee that converts into a double bed.

The South facing patio area get the sun most of the day and is great for alfresco dining and just sitting and relaxing. Private parking for two cars is provided next to the patio completing a charming, comfortable home only 5 minutes from the beach.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Fiona and Norman, with two adult daughters neither now living at home. Norman has now retired as CEO from a Cancer research charity and Fiona works in education for another medical charity. We love to travel, sometimes depending on the destination with our small dog Baxter if possible, and regard ourselves very much as Europeans and are both francophiles! So anywhere in France is of interest to us especially Provence as are European Citites generally. We enjoy experiencing the cultures of the places we visit and we love great scenery and food ! and love to be near the Sea . Following these very succesful and enjoyable forays into the world of house swap we are very excited by the prospect of visiting more new places and making more new friends! To date we have enjoyed four house swaps to Banff in Alberta which was outstandingly successful and to Barcelona which was equally good! more recently we have been to Normandy for a family holiday and we have had a week in Oxford and last year in Northern Ireland . All have been a great experience and we are keen to arrange more.

We have also exchanging with a family from Gozo so I could do some diving, something I would love to do elsewhere as well.

We are also interested in city break for long weekends. Just back from a great Exchange in Ireland
