En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a family of three. Steve (47) Rebecca (17) and myself, Cathryn (50). We have lived in the beautiful City of York for 15 years and love it. Steve lectures at a local Further Education College, where he teaches, golf course design, maintenance and management. Steve enjoys such outdoor pusuits as snow boarding, kite boarding and archery. Rebecca is a great daughter and enjoys drama, swimming, sking and cooking. Classics is her favourite suject at school. I work for myself and have an office in the City centre City centre. My holidays are a great time to forget everything, relax and have some fun. I like to cycle, swim, practice Yoga, garden and eat out. We like to travel and have enjoyed visiting lots of countries around the world and experiencing different cultures. We like to travel nearer home too take the occasinal trip to Edinburgh, London or Newcastle, all these are accessible by train from York station.

We live in a row of four terraced houses (we are the middle) The terrace was built at the turn of the century, around 1900. The house is situated at the end of a residential street with a boat club just behind us. It is extremely quiet and we feel we have a little sanctuary here. Last year we had three lots of nesting ducks, a family of pheasants, rabbits, squirrels, hedgehogs and a large amount of bird life. All of this just a short distance from the City centre of York. You can cycle to York in 10 minutes or walk in 20 minutes. There is a cycle path/walk just outside our gate that lead directly to the city centre via a pretty walk close to the river (half way). There are a selection of local shops and a green grocer near by and a short car ride away a fabulous bakery selling fantastic bread, pies, cheese etc. There is also a local post office and newsagent too. Tesco, a large supermarket is a 10 minute drive away. A great place to stock up on necessitites. York has a fantastic range of shops. York as lots to see & do, galleries, theatre, boat rides, ghost walks, castle & castle walls, snickleways, museums, cycle paths, fabulous cafes & restaurant, bars and clubs. The locals are extremely friendly and Yorshire hospitality is second to none. If you have a car you have a chance to explore some of Britains best countryside and landscapes. Plus there are the typical English seasides, with cream teas, cosy pubs, fish & chips and long walks on the beaches.
