Notre maison

We live in a quiet Cul de Sac in Balgreen which backs on to a large public golf course and a local cycle/ walk network. The house is a 10 minute journey via bus to Edinburgh City centre and 15 minutes bus to the airport. Although the house is very close to the centre we have brilliant access to green space with Water of Leith river and Costorphine Hill Nature Reserve being a stones throw away.
The local bus stop is a minute away and you can catch a number of buses into the city centre. A number of buses run right through the night and a major train station ( Haymarket) is less than 5 minutes away.
The house is an excellent place for entertaining due to its open plan layout, we frequently hold family parties and dinners in the house.
The main features of the House are:
2 Double Bedrooms with kingsize beds.
1 Double Bedroom, which we often use as another sittingroom it contains an excellent double bed sofa.
Openplanned modern equipped kitchen, split level Dining room (seats 6) and livingroom with gas fire and patio door access to back garden.
Front and back garden with raised decking, large BBQ & patio heater.
Off road parking.
Our families live quite close by, and would be more than happy to help with any aspect of your stay.
My own family live in Scotland's only National Park (Loch Lomond and Trossachs), approx 90 minutes drive from Edinburgh. As part of this swop you can have access to a 3 bedroomed house situated in the scenic village of Gartmore.
Car available.

Edinburgh has something to suit everyone. Edinburgh is a safe city which is very compact and easy to walk about. Wintertime is an excellent time to visit with the Christmas wonderland and German market followed by a 4 day action packed, New Year festival.

The city is home to some of the best galleries and museums in the UK, so whether you're into modern art, want to learn more about Scotland's history or fancy a trip down memory lane with the toys of your childhood, the city has something for you.

Add great shopping, bars, resturants and world-class theatre to the mix and you really are spoilt for choice.

Take a walk up any of the city’s seven hills to get a great view. It’s such an easy city to wander about in – you can’t get lost – you can always see the Castle!

If you do get bored of the city, well, an hour’s drive in any direction will get you to the Borders, or Fife, or Perthshire and the Trossachs, or Loch Lomond and beyond to the glorious West Coast - but that’s a trip of several days. Glasgow, too, is worth a visit – it’s only 45 minutes by bus or train – there you can marvel at the Charles Rennie Macintosh buildings, and visit the Burrell collection.
