Notre maison

Station House was originally the station masters house when the Forth Rail Bridge was built over 100 years ago. It is situated in the picturesque coastal village of North Queensferry which has just recently been awarded World Heritage status. The Village is full of charm and history and of course has spectacular views of the Firth of Forth and the Forth Rail Bridge which towers over the rooftops. The bridge is not only beautiful but practical as it provides excellent train links into Edinburgh.

Our location allows any keen golfer to play most of the famous golf courses Scotland has to offer, they are all within travelling distance. Gleneagles is a short 30 minute drive with St Andrews 45 minutes. There are many courses on our doorstep and with Edinburgh city centre a quick 20 min train ride away and with trains every 30 minutes you will not be short of things to do.

Our house was built in 1880 and has a lot of character with plenty of space for a family inside and out. It has 3 double bedrooms (master on-suite) with additional downstairs bathroom and toilet. The master bedroom has a Queens size bed, bedroom two has 2 singles and bedroom 3 has bunk beds. If you require we could possibly make the 2 singles into a double. The large family kitchen has a range cooker and modern appliances along with a separate utility room with washing machine, dryer and double doors on to the Garden. We have a large modern, living/TV room with a 60inch Plasma TV with DVD and Sky and an additional very tasteful comfortable adult sitting room with an open fire for peace and quiet.

It is a bright welcoming house and we enjoy summer and winter here. It has been is tastefully decorated and is very clean. We have a large garden with a patio, garden furniture, BBQ, patio heater etc. The garden is perfect for a family in the summer with lots of space for the adults and a climbing frame and trampoline for kids. It is very well suited for golfing holidays, touring Scotland, the Edinburgh Festival, The Open and a of course a simple family holiday close to a beach coastal walks and a little bit of this and that.

North Queensferry is a picturesque coastal village which has just recently been awarded World Heritage status. It is full of charm and history and of course has spectacular views over the Firth of Forth and the Forth Rail Bridge which towers over the village.
Once a fishing village nestling on the banks of the Forth and with only a Ferry as transport across, it has kept its charm and beauty, white fishing cottages line the winding streets and its views are stunning, it has two quiet beaches and very pretty coastal walks.
The village is quiet and peaceful and has not been scarred by commercialisation.
Deep Sea World (www.deepseaworld.com) sits at the bottom of the village and is god fun for the children and adults. There is a cafe, two pubs, both with pub food and an excellent Michelin recommended restaurant (www,theweerestaurant.co.uk)
There is a corner shop but no supermarket although the next village 2 miles away has a host of shops and supermarkets.
Our house sits at the top of the village and was originally built in the 1800 for the Station Master. It's a short walk from our house to the beach and even shorter walk to the train.
The view to the other side of the forth are that of South Queensferry which has been commercialised to some degree but has not lost its old world charm.
Its worth a visit by train or car both will take 5 minutes..
North Queensferry is an ideal location for visiting Edinburgh and Golfing holidays. Many of the great golf courses are between 15 min and 1 hour away and you could play all of them during your stay. The rail link gets you into Edinburgh city centre in 20 minutes door to door and trains run every 30 minutes We are willing to car exchange and the nearby M9 motorway provides excellent access to Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Glasgow and the North of Scotland. Scotland has much to offer, spectacular scenery, history, castles, culture, and of course golf. Our house is very central and provides a comfortable, homely base for doing it all.
